How to install a stone switch plate

Stone plates install differently from plastic ones. Mount the switch or outlet firmly and flush with the wall first, so the plate sits flat and carries no load. Check the fit before you fasten it. Tighten the screws only until they hold the plate, no more than you can turn with your thumbnail. Never pull the switch or outlet into the plate with the screws: that cracks the stone.

Questions

Which one do I need? Standard outlets with two plug sockets take a duplex cover. Choose Single for one outlet, Double for two side by side.

Will it match my Scabos Travertine tile? It is cut from the same stone, so it matches in color and finish. Every plate is natural travertine, so veining varies from piece to piece.

Can I use it in a bathroom or kitchen? Yes. Seal it once a year in wet areas and clean it with a pH-neutral cleaner.
